a festival of brute force

The previous post about Durham's metal-bending enterprise reminded me of an old Letterman bit. Nothing to do with cycling, but the weather's been crummy and I needed a brief respite from writing and editing.

part 2:

I wonder what we could do with the old machinery in Durham.

I've taken to converting all weights into Alis, just 'cause big numbers sound impressive. So that 80 tons would be about 1300 Alis. That's like the entire population of Saxapahaw standing on the press, if all of them were actually Ali.

Or in different units, I think it would be about a half dozen Pirates or Adams.

Hey there! I managed to make it through the arctic winter without putting on any weight. Sure, my lack of exercise meant that it's shift around a little bit, but I'm still sub-200, thank you very much!

It's amazing how cool it is to watch shit get crushed.

Sub 200? Uh, can I take my shoes off before I step on the scale? Then I think I'm good.
