new bike technology

For our tech-savvy readers, Cannondale's new bikes feature the "beat box"

Not to be mistaken with the original Human Beatbox.
it appears that C'dale has not only stolen Beatbox technology from the Fat Boys, but also roof rack incompatible designs (see Lefty). I expect to see some lawsuits.

Well at least I suppose they have now considered the aesthetics of sound issued from their bottom brackets. On occasion I call mine the Creak Box.

I have an EBB on the Ferrous, which I like to think of as my Extra Bottom Bracket. It makes me go extra fast. To eleven.

To quote the inestimable Sir-Mix-A-Lot: "freaky breathin is out cool music is in." Werd.

I just noticed a smashed early-80s white Volvo station wagon in the Fat Boys' junkyard--just like the car I used to drive! Now that's a dope hooptie.

Wait a minute, your first car was a Volvo station wagon? I suppose it might be more stereotypical for an Oregon boys first car to be a VW bug, but the Volvo is pretty far up there.

This takes me back to a conversation from last year: we need a team car. Even the Volvo would work, though it would certainly need some rims (wire spokes, anyone?) and an awesome paint job, possibly involving an airbrush picture of the Virgen de Guadalupe on the hood.

And roof racks. And hitch racks.
